Welcome to Have Your Say!

Surveys are your opportunity to tell us about your experiences and to suggest ideas for enhancement. We will carefully consider the results of all surveys and try to identify areas where improvements can be made to benefit students.

What Surveys Do the School Participate In?
The School takes part in two national surveys, run by the AdvanceHE (formally Higher Education Academy). These surveys are known in the sector as, the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) and the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES). The surveys are designed to inform sector bodies and policy makers about the experiences students can expect across the country, and to help institutions understand what they are doing well and where they could do better.

PTES (for face-to-face MSc, PGDip and PGCert students) take place annually and PRES (for research degree students) biannually.

Distance Learners will take part in the University of London Worldwide Student Experience Survey biannually.

Students enrolled on a joint course with Kings College and the RVC will be surveyed by the partner institution.

How Do I Take Part in Surveys 2020?

All ‘face-to-face’ postgraduate students and Research Degree student studying enrolled at LSHTM will receive an email with a link to either PTES or PRES in the spring/summer term 2020.

  • In 2019 LSHTM ran the PTES which had a response rate of 43% from students on Face-to-Face programmes.
  • In 2018 554 Research Degree candidates were included in the PRES and 157 (29%) responded.

Distance Learning Students will be invited to take part in the University of London Worldwide Student Experience Survey in Autumn/Winter 2019

What Happens To the Results?
We will release the headline results as soon as we can after the survey closes, so that you can see what other students have said.

Once the School has considered the results through its Senate Sub Committees, we will provide you with an update on the actions we plan to take in response to your feedback.

2019 results are available on the Previous Survey Results tab.
